ROCK AND ROLL HELL

This is a 2 page illustration I did for Pete Fredrich which he published in his comic magazine Pure Entertainment. An oldie but a goodie! Special thanks to my old pal Randy Hoppe for the JPG.

This is one awesome illustration. Do I sense I slight Mort Drucker influence perhaps? Great stuff!

Hey Brothergrimm,
Yeah Elvis was a fat bastard at the end.

Hi David,
This was when I had been doing movie parodies for Crazy Magasine. And I grew up with Mad wrapped around my face so it's only natural to be influenced by the best.

Hi David.

Thanks for the compliments. I actually started out my cartooning career as a caricature artist at 6 flags in Texas. I then traveled all over doing caricatures and portraits at fairs and rodeos and living in my VW bus. Lots of experience.

I remember first seeing this poster at Heidi's apartment back in the early 80's. It was then that she explained about her friends Bob Camp and Vincent Waller, who were both Hollywood big shots.

The drawing reminded me a lot of the 50's EC horror comics. Was that an inspiration for you, Bob?

Very Cool

Hey Pouch, I'll try to add new stuff but as I'm on the road it's difficult.

Hi JJ. Yeah I was very inspired by EC and Mad. I also was influenced as an inker by Wally Wood.

Thanks Gav!
