My art unless I
Say it ain't!
I wish someone would wise up and let you honcho one of these projects.
You and me both pal!
Awesome pirates and fatties. You just jamming on ideas for practice, or are these for projects?
Hi Chris. Thanks! Both. These are for projects, but mostly working out ideas by just doing lots of drawings.
Damn! These are all real good but the 1st & 4th are fucking tight. Were you inspired at all by Monkey Island..?
Hey Ryan,Thanks. I'm sorry but I don't know what Monkey Island is.
Awesome stuff! I really enjoy your character designs. Also, those drawing tips from the previous post have been of great help. Thanks, and good luck on your new projects!
Hi Dragan,Thanks for the nice comments. I'm glad the tips help.
Yarr, I be liking these swabs...
Hey Bonedaddy! Thanks.Sup?
Those drawings are so good, you got me drawing a pirate!http://bp1.blogger.com/_uhU5cQjCk7c/R82JiKJGnyI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/e0iysiNzhrg/s1600-h/pirate.jpg
Thanks James. Yeah Pirates are really fun. My favorite ride at Disneyland has always been the Pirate ride. The movies are very cool too.
Hello, Bob and thank you so much. You came to the Art Institute of Charlotte the other day for a seminar. Honestly, I never really watched Ren & Stimpy, I don't have anything against the series, it's a pretty cool show, I just never watched it. Anyways, what you said at your speaking completely changed around everything I thought I knew and the process I take when creating my characters. Your speaking completely destroyed my ideas and rebuilt them in a way I couldn't believe. You're an amazing speaker and even better creator. Thank you.CA
HI CA,Thanks for the nice comments. I really enjoyed my visit to your school. I love talking to students and helping them understand the process better. Good luck,Bob
Hey Bob, I was wondering, what shapes do you generally use in your basic construction of your characters? For drawing heads, faces, bodies ect. I tend to keep drawing a variation of the same guy over and over. Are there any exercises or tips to break this habbit?
Waou Always a pleasure to come here, and find treasures.
Bob: Gawd these are great ideas. You draw characters with so much personality. I am just so tired of seeing great artists like you not getting a huge project to handle. And even when you do, your stuff gets watered down by retarted executives. It's just not fair. Great, I got myself all worked up. Excuse me, I'll kick some stray cats to relieve myself.
I see you pretty much already answered my question in an earlier post. Good advice.
Hi Pouch, Thanks for the nice comments. I checked out your blog. I really like your rough natural style.
Michael,Shapes on character designs are all about caricature really. The more you know about anatomy and the human body the more you can apply that to a design. Then it's about exaggeration, simplification, and design, balance and style.
Hey PC. Thanks for the anger. Be nice to the kitties!
Awesome pirates Bob. These are way cooler pirates than the ones in "Peter Pan".
