Spa Fon is a nonsence word from Mad Magazine, like potrezebe. I did these sketches for an idea about a school for dorky boys. I wanted the theme to be the meaninglessness of being a kid in school and a meaningless name for the series. Spa Fon!

Ice cream rocker
This piece has an interesting history. Before I moved to LA and began working in animation out there I lived in NYC and wanted to start an ice cream company with scary characters and names on the packaging. My friend Amy Wallin took over the concept and tried for some time to get the company off the ground. Meanwhile We started spumco and I was painting all of the backgrounds for the pilot episode. One background had a Jackson Pollack type painting on the wall and I really enjoyed throwing paint on the BG (this became a real style trademark of the series). Anyway, after I finished the BG painting, I wanted to keep flinging paint and had this idea inspired by my friend Henry Porch and his gothic band London After Midnight. I sent the painting to Amy and she had t-shirts made from it. She sent me a few shirts and I threw one into a drawer and forgot about it. One day I got an idea to scan the shirt and here is the result. It's not as nice as the original painting but it's all I have.

Old Business Card
POX COVER
Some of you may know the wonderful creepy cartoon art of Eric Piggors. Eric asked me to do a painting of the kind of funny cartoon creeps he draws so well. I loved Eric's work and was really getting into photoshop at the time so I asked if he would mind digital art and he was cool with it. I had the idea to do a fake magazine cover so this is what I ended up with. I think everybody ought to contact Eric and help him get POX on the news stands. Check out Eric's work at ToxicToons.com . Mr. UFO
A while backI optioned a script from the very talented writers Kenneth Oppel and Robert Martin called Mr. UFO. I did quite a lot of artwork for the pitch. This is a fun movie poster concept that I cobbled together from several classic Sci-fi posters. I added the faces of Drew Carey and Ryan Styles who I thought would be great for the film.
