Spa Fon is a nonsence word from Mad Magazine, like potrezebe. I did these sketches for an idea about a school for dorky boys. I wanted the theme to be the meaninglessness of being a kid in school and a meaningless name for the series. Spa Fon!
Some of those characters are hilarious. The guy right under "Spa Fon" is great. Did you ever pitch this idea?
BTW, I had posted some notes of yours from about a year ago from lecture you did. I found them online but I though they were from when you were at Spumco, John said they were maybe from Games but then Steve DeStefano commented that they were form a lecture you did. Here's a link, not that you need to see your own notes. :)
Hi Kevin, I really appreciate your nice comments. No I haven't pitched it yet but I'm thinking about it. Thanks also for putting my sketches on your site. I glad people like them and maybe they will help other artists. I do want to say though that these are MY theories not John's. They have nothing to do with John's wonderful site. Keep in touch!
Hey Uncle Phil, I'm glad you like my stuff. Most of it has been buried on my hard drive for a long time and I thought I'd air it out. I checked your blog out. Very cool. Congrats on the Emmy!! Stay in touch.
I edited that post I had so that it doesn't look like those notes are anything but your own and linked to you blog here. I certainly don't want anyone's notes but your own. Thanks for clearing that up for me. (sorry to bug you)
Hey Bob-great to hear from you! Since I left Paris I often thought of you but hesitated to email you knowing you were so busy! I guess ROBOTBOY must be finished now at last? Good to see you blogging too-get that De Stefano storyboard on here. Any plans to visit the south?
Yo Rober!... (The 't' was intentionally muted in deference to your being in France, and all)
All of the GOOD animators are working in Europe. And so, it is with no sense of surprise, that I find you have migrated to the nexus of all that is cool and/or radical.
Speaking of cool words from the old Mad magazine days, may we not forget AXOLOTL!
In the vernacular of Foghorn Leghorn, "LUV - I say L-U-V LUV your work!"
Here's wishing all the best to you and them other happy camp-ers!
Hi Matt J, Great to hear from you. I'd love to visit the south but I can't right now. I'd put that board up here but it's too big and I don't have any way to scan it right now. What's your email?
Hi, Bob! I'm real happy you have a blog here. I really love your stuff and am a huge fan. I've always wondered what ever happened to Bob Camp. But now your here showing us cartoonists/fans that you still do cartoons!
I've been checking your blog here and it's been blowing me away! That Pox magazine cover is great. I love funny spooky-looking people. Spa Fon looks hilarious!
It'd be really cool to exchange some ideas with you and hopefully provide us bloggers with some advice, but really it's up to you.
Take care, Bob! I hope you keep on blogging and showing us more of your amazing work.
Hi Pedro. Nice to hear from you and thanks for all the nice things you've said. Yeah I'm excited about blogging and meeting other cartoonists and cartoon fans. I'll check out your blog as soon as I can. Stay in touch. Bob

Glad to see another cartoonist among the ranks of those who already have blogs. Your work looks great!
Hey, Bob - You lucky @!!&%*!
What did you do to live in Paris?
Hello Dooley,
Thanks! Cartoonists of the world unite!
Hey Kent,
It's been a while. Nice photo. So few people know of your silent film star status. Just hanging out drinking wine. How's by you?

No worries Kevin. Thanks for being so considerate.
Bob
Hey Bob, do you think you'll ever team up with John K again in the future? You're both incredibly talented.
Hi Mike.
No.

Great to hear from you. I'd love to visit the south but I can't right now. I'd put that board up here but it's too big and I don't have any way to scan it right now.
What's your email?
Hi Jorge,
Actually Bob Camp is but one of several different names I go by. If you knew who I really was I'd have to kill you.
Have a nice day.
Hey Lance,
Great to hear from you. Yeah it's pretty cool over here and we love it.
Ah the old Mad Mags were the best!
Hey man let's stay in touch!
